DU champion in inter-university environment debate competition

Dhaka University defeated Chittagong University in the 10th Inter-University Environment Debating Competition organized on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The final of the tournament between Dhaka University Debating Society (DUDS) and Chittagong University Debating Society was held on Saturday at BTV Auditorium.
VC of Dhaka University congratulated the debaters of DUDS for winning the honor of becoming champions Md. Akhtaruzzaman. Dhaka University Debating Society (DUDS), Department of Environment and Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change jointly organized this competition.
The debaters of the champion team are Arpita Goldar, Mobin Mazumder and Md. Sadiur Rahman. Mobin Majumder, a student of Economics Department of Dhaka University, won the honor of being the best debater in the final round debate.
Dhaka University Debating Society Chief Moderator Professor Dr. Mahbooba Nasreen, Moderator Assistant Professor Tawhida Jahan Shanta, President of the Society. Mahbubur Rahman Masum and General Secretary Fuad Hossain provided full support to the debaters.
Earlier, the Dhaka University Debating Society defeated North South University, Dhaka Medical College and Rajshahi University in the semi-finals and made it to the finals in this tournament conducted on a knock out system.
It is to be noted that this debate competition started on May 16, 2023 at the Dhaka University Student-Teacher Center Auditorium with the theme of 'Plastic Pollution Solution-Join us all'. 16 public and private universities participated in the competition.
