District admin drive : Govt land worth Tk 5 cr recovered in Chattogram

In a significant drive led by the District Administration in Chattogram, government land worth taka five and a half crore was recovered from illegal occupiers.
The mobile court, launched on Sunday focused on removing unauthorized structures from a 5.50-decimal plot located in North Pahartali Mouza near the AK Khan intersection. The operation was led by Kattoli Circle’s Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate, Arafat Siddique, with support from officers of Akbar Shah Police Station.
According to reports, late Friday night, a group of miscreants illegally encircled this prime government property with tin sheets, intending to establish control over it. Following confidential information, the District Commissioner of Chattogram ordered immediate action to reclaim the land. The occupiers had even set up a few fruit and tea stalls on the land and were reportedly collecting rent.
Upon conclusion of the operation, all unauthorized structures were removed, and a government signboard was installed to officially mark the property under BS 1 ledger as reclaimed by the state.
Officials from the District Administration estimate the market value of the retrieved land to be approximately five and a half crore Taka. They also stated that such actions against illegal land encroachments will continue, underscoring the District Administration’s commitment to safeguarding public property and ensuring lawful management of state assets.
