In the Eid reunion event organized with Bangladeshi women workers working in Hong Kong, a discussion meeting was held on sending remittances legally and encouraging them to participate in the expatriate pension scheme.

On Sunday (June 23), the Bangladesh Consulate General, Hong Kong organized an Eid reunion program with Bangladeshi women workers working in Hong Kong.

According to a press release, about 120 women workers were present at the event organized during the Eid holiday of Bangladeshi women workers working in Hong Kong. In the first part of the reunion program, a detailed discussion on sending remittances through legitimate channels and encouraging participation in Pravas Pension Scheme and registration in the scheme was discussed. And in the second part of the program, a wonderful cultural program was organized to entertain the workers.

Consul General Miz Israt Ara was present as the chief guest in the program conducted by First Secretary (Labour) Zahidur Rahman.

The main program started with the national anthem of Bangladesh with the women workers present. Then the Consul General exchanged Eid greetings with the staff and called upon everyone to send remittances legally and participate in the Expatriate Pension Scheme under the leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, to build a smart Bangladesh. He assured women workers of all kinds of support from the consulate besides providing various guidelines.

Among the women workers present at the event, several women workers gave short speeches expressing their feelings. They also expressed their interest in registering in the Expatriate Pension Scheme and also thanked the government for making all expatriates non-special category of universal pension scheme. Realizing the importance of sending remittances through legal channels, they also expressed strong conviction about sending remittances through legal channels to Bangladesh.

In the second part of the program interesting cultural programs were organized with the active participation of women workers. They perform patriotic songs, poems, dances etc.

At the end of the event, a raffle draw was organized for the employees. The participating women workers express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the Bangladesh Consulate for providing an opportunity to celebrate Eid in the diaspora and for organizing such a sincere and joyful event.

As it was a weekend (Sunday) for Bangladeshi women workers, hundreds of workers and several employers were present with them.

It has been reported that Bangladesh Consulate General, Hong Kong regularly organizes various programs for women workers working in Hong Kong to eliminate boredom at work and work with new enthusiasm.
