Disaster Management Committee meeting to deal with Cyclone 'Remal' in Rangamati

A meeting of the Rangamati District Disaster Management Committee has been held to deal with Cyclone 'Remal'. It was held on Sunday (May 26) at 10 am in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.

In the meeting, the District Commissioner said that the district administration has taken all kinds of preparations to deal with the cyclone. We are monitoring the situation all the time. Shelters have been prepared. Awareness campaign is being done by miking. Besides, the force of all police stations of the district police is ready to deal with the disaster.

It has been directed to keep district shelters ready, prepare medical teams, keep enough dry food and drinking water, fire service, ambulance and volunteers ready for disaster and post-disaster rescue operations. Dealing with cyclones '322 shelters have been kept ready in district.

District Disaster Management Committee President and Deputy Commissioner Md. Mosharraf Hossain Khan, Additional Superintendent of Police Maruf Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Saiful Islam, District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Md. Roknuzzaman, Deputy Director of District Youth Development Md. Shahjahan, Assistant Director of District Social Services Directorate Rupna Chakma, Executive Engineer of District LGED Directorate Ahmed Shahid, Road Department Executive Engineer Sabuj Chakma.

At this time, officials of various departments of district administration, all upazila executive officers and upazila project implementation officers, NGO representatives were present.
