Defamation case filed by JS whip: CUJ condemns lawsuit against journalists

Chattogram Union of Journalists (CUJ) has protested a lawsuit filed by Jatiya Sangsad Whip and lawmaker from Patiya Shamsul Haque Chowdhury against renowned editors and journalists of various media outlets.
In a statement, CUJ expressed deep concern over the move and called for withdrawal of the case.
The case by whip purports to be curtailing freedom of press and harassing the journalists for speaking the truth.
The persons sued by whip include Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) vice-president Reaz Haider Chowdhury, CUJ member Mohammad Selim and SM Rana.
