Daring Burglary at Ctg Jewellers: Case filed, none arrested

A case was filed in connection with the daring burglary at a jewellery shop in the city’s Naya Bazar area on Tuesday night.
The shop “Boishakhi Saj Jewellers” proprietor Sentu Dhar filed the case with Halishahar police station.
But, none was arrested till filing the report on Wednesday evening, said Officer in-Charge (OC) Jahir Uddin of the police station.
The complainant in the case alleged that they left the shop putting it under lock and key on Monday early hours.
But, they found an iron safe and two iron grills of the shop’s back side broken, and wire of the CCTV camera disconnected on Monday morning.
Burglars took away around 90 brories of gold ornaments worth around Tk 50 lakh and cash amount of Tk 5 lakh from the spot, said the owner Sentu Dhar.
“We noticed two burglars entered the shop in the CCTV footage,” he said demanding recovery of the gold ornaments and the money.
OC Jahir said they collected the CCTV footage and drive was going on to nab the burglars.
