Counterfeit medicines seized in Shibganj

A mobile court in Bogura's Shibganj conducted a raid and seized a large quantity of counterfeit medicines and imposed a fine of Tk 50,000.
Shibganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Umme Kulsum Sampa conducted the operation on the basis of secret information in Laxmikola village of Deuli Union of the upazila on Saturday afternoon. At that time 6 bags of fake medicine were seized.
It is learned that Shahjahan Kazi (60), son of late Abul Hossain Kazi of the area was arrested while making sexually arousing medicine and cough syrup. He was later fined Tk 50,000 by a mobile court. And counterfeit medicine is destroyed.
In this regard, Upazila Nirbahi Hamik Umme Kulsum Sampa said that for a long time he used to make counterfeit medicines and sell them secretly in different areas. He was fined Tk 50,000 in a mobile court.
