Coordinator of Anti-discrimination Student Mov hacked in Chandpur

Ahsan Habib, the main coordinator of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement and the plaintiff in the August 4 case, was hacked and injured at Haimchar in Chandpur.
The incident took place in front of Haimchar Government College at 9:45 am on Tuesday.
Habib's family alleged that the attack was led by Miraj Hossain, the niece of BNP leader Sardar Abdul Jalil Master. The seriously injured Ahsan Habib has been sent to Dhaka for better treatment from Chandpur Sadar Hospital.
Haimchar Thana Police arrested Nurmia Akhon's son Siam Hossain in connection with the attack. Injured Ahsan Habib's uncle Dulal Patwari said that his niece Ahsan Habib is the president of Haimchar College Chhatra Dal. He led the anti-discrimination student movement. Habib was seriously injured in the movement. Later he filed a case at Haimchar police station as a plaintiff. After filing the case, UP Chairman Sardar Abdul Jalil Master called him as implicating innocent people in the case. He also threatened to withdraw the case as he did not agree. For not listening to him, he attacked Habib several times with his niece Miraz. Finally planning to kill Habib by stabbing him.
Ahsan Habib is currently on the brink of death. He requested the administration to bring all those involved in the attack under the law.
Haimchar Government College Acting Principal. Kamrul Islam said that the incident that happened in front of Haimchar College today was unexpected. Our college has never had such a heinous attack. Injured Ahsan Habib and attacker Miraj are both students of this college. In connection with the attack on Ahsan Habib, we suspended Sirajul Islam Miraj, son of Almas Uddin Akhon, from the college for his primary involvement in the crime.
College authorities have formed a 3-member committee to investigate the incident. According to the report of the inquiry committee, if the truth of the incident is found later, he will be permanently dismissed. He said that this boy named Miraj is a student of the 1st year of class 11. He had previously misbehaved with teachers and students in the college. The college authorities also signed an undertaking from him.
Haimchar police station officer-in-charge Mohiuddin Sumon said that a person named Siam has been arrested in connection with the attack on student Ahsan Habib. The case is pending on behalf of the family. Efforts are underway to arrest those involved in the incident.
In protest of the incident, a protest march was held in the afternoon at Upazila Sadar Algi Bazar by Chhatra Dal President Faisal Ahmed Akhan and General Secretary Milad Hossain Majhi.
