Child Khaleda Zia' asked for votes for BNP in Durgapur

Durgapur (Netrokona) Correspondent

A small child, dressed in the likeness of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, was seen delivering a speech at an election meeting. The child, wearing Begum Zia’s signature look of a white and purple sari, large black sunglasses, and perfectly imitating her speaking style, thrilled the gathered crowd.

On Thursday  noon, such a scene was witnessed at an election meeting of the Sheaf of Paddy–nominated candidate for Netrokona-1 (Durgapur–Kalmakanda) constituency and BNP central committee’s legal affairs secretary Barrister Kaiser Kamal. Holding a microphone, the child said, “I am Begum Khaleda Zia. Vote for the Sheaf of Paddy. I am handing over my son Kaiser Kamal to you.”

At a women’s election gathering in the Borobatta area of Durgapur upazila, the child’s fluent acting and participation in campaigning while standing on the same stage with the present leaders greatly attracted everyone. Some praised the child’s acting skills, while others viewed the child’s firm and confident speech very positively. The child’s attire accurately reflected Begum Khaleda Zia’s sunglasses and sari-wearing style, and the former prime minister’s manner of speaking was clearly mirrored in the child.

Later, addressing the women present at the gathering, Barrister Kaiser Kamal said he would work to make educated and less-educated unemployed women self-reliant through sewing machine training, embroidery, and the promotion of Nakshi Kantha crafts. He also promised to arrange interest-free loans for fish farmers and poultry farm owners.

Addressing the voters, Barrister Kaiser Kamal said, your single vote is extremely valuable. It will determine the security of your temples and mosques and the future development of the area. Therefore, deliver your verdict after seeing the deserving candidate and choose a qualified and educated candidate for the development of the area.

Promising to protect the rights of voters present at the rally regardless of caste, religion, or color, he said, which party one belongs to, which religion one follows, or which path one takes is not a matter of consideration for us. To us, the greatest identity above all is Bangladesh. Our goal is to uphold the dignity and respect of every individual as a human being. A large number of general male and female voters, along with local BNP leaders and activists from its affiliated organizations, were present at the election meeting.
