Case filed against former Munshiganj MP Mohiuddin, 55 Others

Police have filed a case against 55 leaders and activists of the Awami League and its student wing, Chhatra League, including five union parishad chairmen and former Member of Parliament for Munshiganj-1, Mohiuddin Ahmed.
The charges include holding a secret meeting, conspiring against the state and government, and planning acts of sabotage. Later, two arrested Awami League leaders were officially shown as detained along with several books on Bangabandhu and history.
On Sunday, Sirajdikhan Police Station OC Abu Bakkar Siddique confirmed the matter.
He said that on Friday afternoon, Sub-Inspector Md. Hafizur Rahman filed the case at Sirajdikhan Police Station. The case names 25 individuals directly, while another 25–30 are listed as unidentified accused.
According to the OC, on Thursday night (August 14), two Awami League leaders were arrested in raids at Ichhapura and Kathaltali villages of Sirajdikhan upazila. They were identified as Delwar Hossain Hawlader (48), vice president of Ichhapura Union Awami League, and Shah Alam Dhali (51), president of Ward No. 3 unit of Jainsar Union Awami League. At the time, police recovered several books on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the history of India’s independence, along with 10 posters bearing Bangabandhu’s image.
The OC added that the seized books included “Bharatborsher Shadhinota: Ghotonabohul Itihash” by Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, “Mujib Is a Great Man” by Md. Aziz Mahmud, “Chotoder Sheikh Mujib” by Ruhul Amin Babul, and “Bangabandhur Pathonirdeshonar Bangladesh” by Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
Other accused include: former upazila chairman Awlad Hossain Mridha, Rajanagar Union Parishad chairman Mojibur Rahman, Keyain Union Parishad chairman Sheikh Ashraf Ali, Basail Union Parishad chairman Md. Saiful Islam, Latondi Union Parishad chairman Fazlul Haque, former Ichhapura Union Parishad chairman Abdul Matin Hawlader, Sholghar Union Parishad chairman Azizul Haque of Srinagar upazila, Sirajdikhan Upazila Chhatra League president Arian Abdullah Anik, and general secretary Kawsar Ahmed.
Investigation into the case has already begun, and police are conducting drives in different areas to arrest the accused.
