BNP leader Amir Ali Talukder has been blamed of occupying nine shops using party signboards of BNP at Morrelganj.

Mahmudul Hasan, the son of the victim's family, held a press conference at the Shubo Press Club and presented a written complaint at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

I have built 9 shops on a part of that land and have been renting it to businesses since 2007. After the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on August 5, the shops on that land were occupied by BNP president Amir Ali Talukder and his men, accused in the war crime case of the same area.

At that time, they hanged a signboard with pictures of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and Tarek Rahman and used it as the office of BNP to exert party influence. Two days later the signboard disappeared. Later BNP leader Amir Ali took possession of 9 shops and extorted Tk. Apart from this, they signed blank stamps from the tenants.

Mahmudul Hasan also said, my father is a teacher. Even then, he remained on the side of the common people. Politically, he was an activist of Awami League. What was his crime? Where BNP Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman has instructions not to encroach on anyone's land, houses or enclosures. There, BNP leaders occupied 9 shops in broad daylight using party signboards. I am demanding justice to the party leaders and senior administration for redressal of this incident.

Morelganj Upazila BNP President said in this regard. Shahidul Haque Babul said that the land dispute is their family matter. However, the image of the party is being undermined. Ward BNP President Md. Amir Ali Talukder denied the allegations made against him and said that he did not encroach on anyone's land.

On the other hand, Shahbuddin Talukdar took possession of his land in 2011 while he was still alive.
