BASA protests news of Kalbela on alleged corruption in DC postings, terms it motivated

Bangladesh Administrative Service Association (BASA) has strongly protested the news published in daily Kalbela newspaper alleging corruption in the appointment of Deputy Commissioner. At the same time, the organization claimed that the news presented was motivated.

On Thursday (October 3), the organization's Secretary General Mohammad Mahbubar Rahman and President Dr. Md. Anwar Ullah protested it in a joint statement.

According to the statement, recently the news and information related to the activities of the Ministry of Public Administration regarding the appointment of Deputy Commissioners in various districts, appointment of secretaries in various ministries and other posts are being circulated in various newspapers, electronic media and various social media, which has come to the attention of Bangladesh Administrative Service Association (BASA).

Before publishing such news, without thoroughly verifying all the information or investigating the underlying cause of the incident, some media sometimes exaggerated news and information in an overzealous manner, tarnishing the image of the administration cadre, and debating the activities of the current interim government. Appears to have engaged in effort.

It also said that reports of corruption were not supported by evidence. Mobile screenshots or in some cases audio records are being used in such news delivery which can be artificially prepared in the current information technology era. As a result, with due respect to all the media, Bangladesh Administrative Service Association wants to remind that the allies of the dictatorial government are still active and secretly trying to spread confusion in the public mind by causing information outages with various tricks, so everyone should be careful.

Incidentally, recently the information of a terrible scam has been leaked regarding the appointment of the Deputy Commissioner (DC). Senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration who has been appointed on the basis of contract with this appointment trade. Mokhles Ur Rahman and the controversial two joint secretaries. Information about the direct involvement of Ziauddin Ahmed and Ali Azam has come to light. In the WhatsApp conversation of a joint secretary with that senior secretary, the information of large financial transactions regarding the appointment of DC has also come to light.

This information was revealed in an investigative report on Thursday (October 3). According to the report, Senior Secretary Mokhles Ur Rahman claimed himself as innocent at one stage of the WhatsApp conversation.

He demanded five crore taka for the appointment of DC saying that he has no greed for money. Some of the screenshots of their conversation in this regard are also circulating in various important circles of the state, which is causing a lot of commotion within the administration.
