On the occasion of the 5th anniversary of Bandhu Mahal Voluntary Blood Donation Center Sylhet, a day-long free eye care camp was held to provide free services to the poor, helpless and distressed patients of Paschim Darsha village of Masuk Bazar area sadar upazila in Sylhet.

A camp was conducted at Hatim Chowdhury Islamia Hafizia Dakhil Madrasa on Thursday, September 19 from 10 am to 1 pm in collaboration with Sylhet Inclusive Eye Hospital (former Sylhet Modern Eye Hospital).

Under the chairmanship of Bandhu Mahal Voluntary Blood Donation Center Sylhet President Abzal Ahmed and General Secretary Al Fahim, the chief guest of Masjid Al Jamatul Muslim Bangladesh Northampton, UK Imam and Khatib Hafiz Maulana Abu Bakr spoke at the opening ceremony of the free eye service program. Assistant teachers of Hatim Chowdhury Islamia Hafizia Dakhil Madrasa Abul Kalam Azad, Gholam Akbar, Hafiz Ashraf and Abdush Shafi Mohammad spoke as special guests.

Ophthalmologist Dr. A medical team consisting of 8 members under the leadership of Mahfuz Hossain provides medical care to patients with various eye problems.

The organizers said that more than three hundred patients were provided with medical care in the day-long eye camp. Out of these 14 cataract patients were selected. Free operation will be done at Sylhet Inclusive Eye Hospital. All patients are also provided free prescriptions and spectacles.

After the free eye service programme, the leaders of Bandhu Mahal Voluntary Blood Donation Center, Sylhet, gave an honorary crest to Imam and Khatib Hafiz Maulana Abu Bakr of Masjid Al Jamatul Muslim Bangladesh Northampton, UK.
