Allegations of irregularities in renovation work of road at Kalmakanda in Netrakona

There have been allegations of irregularities in the renovation of the road from the Pogla Union Parishad office of Kalmakanda upazila of Netrakona to main road Gorestan via Monkandia Bazar at a cost of about one and a half crore taka.
Upazila Engineer Subhradev Chakraborty has confirmed that the work of that road has been stopped on Tuesday following the allegations.
According to Upazila LGED office sources, LGED took the initiative to renovate the road from Pogla Union Parishad office of the upazila to Gorstan via Monkandia Bazar. About two kilometers of road renovation work is estimated to cost 1 crore 44 lakh taka.
A contractor named Mohibul of Mymensingh Sadar got the job. On Wednesday, it was seen on the ground that the carpeting was done with substandard material without cleaning the road dirt. On Tuesday morning, some parts of the road were pulled by hand and the carpeting came up.
After receiving the news, the upazila engineer Subhradeva Chakraborty stopped the road work. In this regard, the vaccinator could not be reached by calling Mohibul Haque's mobile phone. So it was not possible to speak.
