Affected families of Payra Thermal Power Plant demand implementation of 7- point demands

Some 150 affected families by the land acquisition of Payra Thermal Power Plant in Kalapara, Patuakhali have formed a human chain demanding implementation of seven point demands on Wednesday.

The hour-long human chain was held in the premises of Bangladesh China Technical Institute. Alam Ghazi, Naeem Howladar, Jamal Mridha, Baijid Mridha and others spoke in the hour-long human chain.

Minimum one person from 130 families should be given direct permanent employment in BCPCL company based on merit and not quota based on human bond. It should be explained that 0.03 paisa per unit of electricity generated in the said thermal power plant was supposed to be given to the affected 130 families. Payra thermal power plant acquisition, if there is to pay three times the price, the authorities pay twice the amount, the remaining two times the amount must be explained to all the land donors.

Everyone of the dream address housing project should be given permanent documents by the month of OctoberProject MDAM Khorshedul Alam OPD Shah Abdul Mawla Helal involved in corruption should resign and all the senior officials of the project and their own relatives and contractually appointed officials should be canceled and removed.

130 families should be provided with clean food and water tanks as soon as possible. The agitators raised 7 point demands to give a written statement in compliance with all the demands. The agitators also said that if the demands are not accepted within the next 72 hours, they will go on a strict agitation.
