Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized 30,000 yaba worth Tk 1.5 cr from Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar on Friday.
Bangladesh Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque informed this in a press release.
The press release stated that acting on a tip-off, the Coast Guard Outpost at Shahparir Dwip conducted a special operation at around 2:00 PM on Thursday, 31 July 2025, in the Golar Char sea area adjacent to Shahparir Dwip under Teknaf Police Station. During the operation, a suspicious engine-run wooden boat was searched, leading to the recovery of 30,000 yaba tablets with an estimated street value of Tk 1.5 crore.
However, no arrests were made as the drug traffickers fled upon sensing the presence of the Coast Guard.
Legal procedures concerning the seized yaba tablets and the wooden boat are currently underway.
The Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future to maintain law and order across the country.
