3 beaten to death on suspicion of cow theft in Narail

Three persons were beaten to death by a mob on suspicion of cow theft in Narail's Sadar upazila early Wednesday.
The incident took place around 4 am at Tularampur area under the upazila.
Two of the dead have been identified. They are Nurunnabi and Dulal, hailed from Shibganj upazila in Bogura district. The other person has not been identified.
According to police and locals, four persons entered the house of one Hannan Molya at Tularampur village at night. At that time, when the dogs of the house barked, Hannan Molya realized the matter and screamed. The surrounding people came forward.
Later, an announcement was made on mic of the local mosque and people gathered. When the thieves tried to escape, the locals chased them and beat them up. The three died on the spot and one escaped.
Narail Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sajedul Islam said police visited the scene. Legal action are under process in this regard.
