Comilla University (CoU) 'Team Echo Band' has been selected to participate in the regional summit of the international competition 'Hult Prize'. The regional summit will be held in Mumbai on June 7 to 9.

On Friday (April 5), the team members of 'Team Echo Band' confirmed this.

The members of 'Team Echo Band' are 3 students of 2019-20 session of the University's Accounting and Information Systems department. The 3 students are Anan Wahid Khan, Arpita Chowdhury and Abu Bakr Siddique. The on-campus round of the competition was held in Comilla University last February. The winner of that round was 'Team Echo Band'.

Anan Wahid, a member of 'Team Eco Band' said, "We feel very honored to have made it to the regional stage, Alhamdulillah. At the same time, we are really happy to have the opportunity to introduce our university to the world. We want a healthy and peaceful world with our team's ideas." Let's play a role in building."

About the team's idea, he said, “Our bandage will be the only bandage that is eco-friendly. That is, if it is thrown on the ground after use, it will be mixed with the soil at the same time. Among the 3 types of bandages, bamboo trees will grow from the 'Blossom' bandage. Other 2 types of bandages are 'Charcoal Bandage' and 'Compostable Bandage'. "

Only 360 teams have been selected for this round from 10,000 teams from more than 100 countries in the Hult Prize 2024, the world's largest entrepreneurial competition known as the Nobel Prize for students. 'Team Echo Band' took place in it.

The winning teams from the regionals will participate in the Halt Finals in New York. In the final round, the winning team will be awarded $1 million (about Tk 8 crore in Bangladeshi taka) to implement their idea.
