Workers, employees of Lakhpur Group demand reopening of closed factories in Bagerhat

Several thousand workers and officials working in the factories have taken to the streets demanding the reopening of 17 export-oriented industries that have been closed in Bagerhat.
On Friday afternoon, the workers of the factory formed a human chain, protest procession and sit-in strike in the Katakhali area of Khulna-Mongla highway in Fakirhat upazila of the district.
In the human chain, the workers strongly demanded the current government to quickly reopen these closed factories of Lakhpur Group and manage their work and provide opportunities for the education, medical and family expenses of their children.
It is mentioned that the company's managing director SM Amjad Hossain alleged that these factories were closed due to extortion by the leaders of the previous Awami League government and the direct instigation of the government.
