Traditional horse racing competition held in Birampur

The traditional horse racing competition which is on the verge of extinction due to the evolution of time, was held last Friday afternoon in a field of Tatakpur village, organized by the Poliprayagpur Fishermen's Cooperative Society of Birampur upazila of Dinajpur.
In the presence of a large number of spectators, horse riders from different upazilas of the district participated in the competition with their horses. Local social worker Advocate Shahriar Firoz Shuvo was present as the chief guest and handed over the prizes to the winning horse riders. The competition was held in 3 categories. In category A, horse rider Abir of Ghorghat upazila won a Khasi award by becoming 1st and horse rider Ashikur of Chiribandar upazila came 2nd.
In category B, horse rider Anwar Hossain of Ghorghat upazila came 1st and Matlubur came 2nd. In the C category, horse riders Shahriar and Hasan Ali from Chirirbandar Upazila came in first and second respectively.
