Swedish Ambassador meets Industries Adviser

Swedish Ambassador to Bangladesh Nicolas Weeks met Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan at his office in the capital today.
During the meeting, the Ambassador said a total of 170 Swedish firms had
invested in Bangladesh over the years and urged the Adviser to extend his
all-out support to these enterprises.
The envoy informed that Sweden signed an agreement with the Bangladesh Bank for extending financial support to the women entrepreneurs as well as small and cottage industries, said a Ministry press release here.
In this regard, the Swedish Ambassador opined that the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Foundation and Small, Micro and Cottage Industries Foundation (SMCIF) could be involved in this regard.
In response, the Industries Adviser assured the Ambassador of extending all-out support.
Industries Ministry Senior Secretary Zakia Sultana sought Swedish support in the fields of pharmaceuticals, ICT and agriculture food processing
industries.
Senior officials of the ministry were present in the meeting, among others.
