Soybean oil hoarding, shop owner fined in Tongibari

Three establishments have been fined Tk 12,000 in a drive by the Consumer Rights Protection Department in Tongibari, Munshiganj on Tuesday afternoon.

Assistant Director of the District Consumer Rights Protection Department, Asif Al Azad, conducted a drive at Betka Bazar in the upazila and fined Shuvo Varieties shop owner Tk 5,000 for selling soybean oil at a price higher than the government's fixed price and storing a total of 288 liters of soybean oil of different brands in 17 cartons in the warehouse, Tk 4,000 for displaying and storing expired medicines for sale in the pharmacy, and Tk 3,000 for Concord Medical Hall Pharmacy.

Upazila Sanitary Inspector Abdullah Al Mamun, CAB and Tongibari Police Station assisted the drive. The bottled soybean oil stored in the store was ordered to be sold to the buyers present at the MRP price.
