Osmaninagar (Sylhet) Correspondent

Awami League leaders, accused in murder and robbery cases Junaid, Akaid Mia and Khankar Mia Gong, announced the news of the entering dacoits in mosque microphone in Osmaninagar and looted the expatriate's house on Tuesday.

They looted the expatriate's house by spreading false news. Expatriate Abdul Haque Chanu Mia told a press conference that 10 bhoris of gold ornaments, including goods worth about 5 lakh taka, were looted. He also said that he was threatened with death.

Expatriate Abdul Haque Chanu Mia, son of deceased Abdul Khalik of Uttar Kalnirchar village of Sadipur union in Osmaninagar, made these remarks at a press conference at the Osmaninagar Upazila Press Club. Chanu Mia filed a complaint with the Osmaninagar police station last week. Case No. 02.

Shanu Mia, a UK expatriate, told a press conference that for the past two months, he and his family have been living in their ancestral home in Uttar Kalnirchar village, Sadipur Union, Osmaninagar Upazila, Bangladesh, with one son. Last Friday, at around 11 pm, an announcement was made over the loudspeaker at Kalnirchar Mosque that a robber had entered. After receiving the news, the police station arrived at the scene.

Then, at around 1 am, when the police members came out of Abdul Haque's house and came out on the road, a group of terrorists led by Junaid Bahini attacked them indiscriminately. In this, SI Mujibur Rahman and 3 other police members were injured.

Meanwhile, my neighbor from the east in the same village, Awami League leaders, Junaid, son of the late Hamid Ullah, Akaid Mia and Khankar Mia, son of the late Rukum Ullah, accused in various murder and robbery cases and Awami office-bearers, Shibrul Amin, son of the late Chanu Mia, Emon Mia and Rumon Mia, son of Akaid Mia, Fahim Ahmed Dhan Mia, son of Ashiq Mia, Mobarak Hossain Mendi Mia, son of the late Sajid Mia, and their associates have been forcibly occupying the entire property inherited from Abdul Haque Chanu Mia, including the Kalnirchar Bazar market, for 20/25 years with the help of the autocratic fascist government of the Awami government. When local dignitaries of the area failed to resolve the dispute through arbitration meetings several times, the expatriate filed a case in 2020.

The verdict in the case came in favour of Chanu Mia. When he filed an eviction case, the magistrate came to the spot and vacated the land. While Chanu Mia was working at the market in that place, the above-mentioned Awami terrorists were forcing him to work at his market in various ways. They were even threatening him through various means and at the same time demanding a ransom of 20 lakh taka from him. Otherwise, they would not let him work on his land and were threatening to beat him up.

When expatriate Abdul Haque Chanu Mia refused to pay the ransom, they got angry with him and on the 28th of last month, they started a drama by miking the mosque and attacking Chanu Mia's house and vandalizing the house. When the police visited the spot and went to question the imam of the mosque, the accused attacked the police and the police, calling them robbers.

But the police did not find any evidence of any dacoits coming to the area. The police filed a case against the accused as a complainant in this regard. On the night of March 1, the police launched a drive from Osmaninagar police station to arrest them. A large number of country-made weapons were recovered from the accused's house during the raid. After the police returned, at about 1 am, Zaniid and Aqaid, along with their team, carried out a planned attack on his house again. At that time, they looted 5 lakh taka in cash, 10 tons of gold ornaments including necklaces, bracelets, earrings and pendants from his house.

They even looted relief goods worth about 3 lakh taka for the helpless poor during the month of Ramadan. The terrorists broke the gate of Chanu Mia's uncle Haji Lokman Ali and attacked his house on the same night and attacked the houses of another cousin, Khasru Mia' and Khaled Mia, looting goods worth about 5 lakh taka.

Expatriate Chanu Mia also said, we are in a very insecure situation. We are afraid to go to the area because our lives and property are not safe. The terrorists of Awami League are threatening that if we go to the area, they will kill us. We strongly protest this attack. Rehena Parveen, wife of expatriate Abdul Haque Chanu Mia, Ruhel Ahmed, Khuzail Mia and Suheb Mia were present.
