
PCIU Journalism Alumni Association gets new committee

The first executive committee of the Port City International University (PCIU) Journalism Alumni Association (PJAA) has been formed.
The election management committee announced the names of the selected candidates on Sunday afternoon.
Muhammad Imran Bin Chabur, Staff Reporter of the Daily Purbukone, has been elected as the President and Sarowar Ahmad, Staff Reporter of the Daily Purbukone, has been elected as the General Secretary of the first executive committee respectively.
The other office- bearers are - The Daily Financial Post Staff Correspondent Tapas Barua as senior vice president, Mishu Paul, director of Sahityapara Coaching, as Vice-president, Daily Chattogram Pratidin staff reporter Ibrahim Zulhaj Neel as joint secretary, Potaka News staff reporter Md. Sakhawat Alam (Rimon) as finance secretary, and Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) program officer Tufayelur Rahman has been elected as organizing secretary. Anowar Hossain, Staff Correspondent of The Daily Observer (Chittagong Bureau), has been elected as the publicity, publication and office secretary, Md. Nahidul Islam Founder of BANGLALEADS as the membership affairs secretary, Debashish Chakraborty, Staff Reporter of CVoice 24, has been elected as the cultural and sports affairs, and Ekramul Haque Shamim, Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) field facilitator, Sharmin Akhter, Ahmed Jobayer Ullah (Sarjil), Staff Reporter of Potaka News have been elected as the executive members.
The organization has begun work to build a strong and effective alumni network through increased communication, professional support, and camaraderie among former students of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at PCIU.
