Pagla Mosque gets Tk 7.22 cr, huge gold in 9 donation boxes

At least 28 sacks of money, amounting to over Tk 722,13046 crore,, huge foreign currencies, gold were found in nine donation boxes of Kishoreganj's Pagla Mosque.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Kishoreganj, Md.Abul kalam Azad confirmed the matter The 9 donation boxes were opened on Saturday morning around 8 30 am after 118 days in presence of Brigadier General Tariqul Islam, DC Md Abul Kalam Azad, SP Sheikh Rashel, BPM(Bar),PPM, ADM Rahamat and dignified officials.
More than 250 people including 115 madrasa students and 64 Rupali Bank employees joined the counting process.
On April , 17 this year, the Pagla Mosque gets tk. 7.68 Crores, huge ornaments and foreign currencies.
ADC(General) Rubel Mahmud, ADC(Revenue) Kazi Mahua Momtaz, Sadar UNO, NDC Rowshan kabir , Army members and Rupali Bank Assistant General Manager(AGM) Rafiqul Islam have taken part in the counting today.
The historical Pagla Mosque is located on the banks of the Narsunda river in Kishoreganj town.
The money received from the donation boxes of the mosque is spent on various mosques, madrasas and orphanages in the district, as well as in various social welfare activities.
Pagla Mosque managing committee president, also Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md.Abul Kamal Azad told the New Nation that, An initiative has been taken to build an international standard Islamic Complex in the Pagla Mosque and its construction cost has initially been estimated at Tk 115 crore. Around 60,000 people will be able to pray together at the Islamic Complex, according to the sources at the mosque.
