One killed by lightning strike in Nakla

A young man was killed in a lightning strike at Mojakanda area of Palashkandi village, under Pathakata Union in Nakla Upazila of Sherpur district on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Md Sujon Mia (20), son of Fayjol Mia of the Mojakanda.
According to family sources, Sujon Mia was cultivating his land with a power tiller in light rain when the lightning struck, killing him on the spot. He was the second of three siblings and worked as a laborer in Hamid furniture of Nakla Bazar. He was also the only earning member of the family.
Upon hearing the news, Pathakata Union Parishad Chairman Md Abdus Salam and other council members provided immediate support to the affected family. The chairman also assured of further assistance from government sources.
