
Nitai Roy Chowdhury in Satkhira : People of Bangladesh will not tolerate delay in election

A public meeting was held by Satkhira District BNP to demand curbing the rise in prices of daily necessities, improve the law and order situation and announce the roadmap for democratic transition at 3 pm on Tuesday at Shaheed Abdur Razzak Park.
To make the meeting a success, the leaders and activists of BNP and its front organizations from seven upazilas of the district came with a march. After noon Satkhira Shahid Abdur Razzak Park was filled to the brim. Before this, the entire city was covered with banners and posters. Publicity campaigns were carried out across the city.
BNP Central Executive Committee Vice Chairman and former minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury was present as the chief guest in the public meeting. Habibul Islam Habib, Educational Secretary of BNP Central Executive Committee and former MP, was the main speaker.
Besides, BNP central leader Alhaj Kazi Alauddin, Dr. Md. Shahidul Alam, former district BNP convener Adv. Syed Iftekhar Ali, Md. Abdul Alim (Chairman), Habibur Rahman Habib, Sheikh Tariqul Hasan, Mrinalkanti Roy, Abul Hasan Hadi, Taskin Ahmed Chishti, Dr. Moniruzzaman and were present as special guests. Aktarul Islam and others. District BNP convenor Rahmatullah Palash presided over the meeting and district BNP member secretary Abu Zahid Dabul was in charge. Besides, the leaders and workers of different levels of district, upazila and municipal areas gave speeches.
Nitai Roy Chowdhury said, the people of Bangladesh will not tolerate electioneering. He called on the government to take measures for early elections and said that if the elections are delayed, BNP will be forced to go for strict agitation.
He said that the price increase of daily necessities should be kept at a bearable level. The deteriorating law and order situation must be improved. Electoral roadmap should be announced for fast transition to democratic journey.
Calling upon the BNP leaders and workers to be vigilant in confronting the conspiracy of fascism in the state, he addressed Sheikh Hasina and said that the family of Sheikh Hasina, who fled, has no right to do politics on the soil of Bengal.
In the president's speech, district BNP convenor Rahmatullah Palash said, "This party has been miserable and oppressed for 17 years and now we are breathing a little." This is our first public meeting since 2013. After the fall of dictator Hasina, the people of Bangladesh have been freed from unjust oppression. From 2013 to 2016, this torture was horrific. Our activists have been killed, injured, and arrested in hundreds of false cases.
