A huge public meeting has been organized at the Rangpur Zilla School Ground on July 4th at the initiative of Rangpur Metropolitan and District Jamaat-e-Islami. 

Regarding this public meeting a press conference was organized at the Metropolitan and District Jamaat offices at Shapla Chattar on Wednesday afternoon.

 Maulana Abdul Halim, the party's one of the Central Assistant Secretary General and Director of Rangpur-Dinajpur Region spoke at the press conference under the chairmanship of Rangpur City Ameer Vice-principal ATM Azom Khan.

 At the press conference, Maulana Abdul Halim said that after the July 24 uprising, the fascist Awami League government was forced to flee due to the anger of the students and the public. He demanded the trial of the killers of the great hero of this revolution, the pride of Bangladesh, the meritorious student of Rangpur Begum Rokeya University, Shaheed Abu Sayeed and 8 martyrs of Rangpur including all the murders, trials of all fascists, necessary reforms, creation of a level playing field for free, fair and impartial elections in a reasonable time, the creation of a humane Bangladesh and the implementation of the Teesta Great Project, a huge public meeting will be held at the Rangpur Zilla School Ground at 3 pm on Friday, July 4th, after 17 years. He called on everyone, regardless of party, opinion, religion, caste, and the journalist community, to cooperate in making the public meeting a success. He said that the meritorious son of Rangpur, the Central Executive Council member of Jamaat-e-Islami and former Secretary General, the oppressed public leader ATM Azharul Islam, will participate in the public meeting in Rangpur next Friday by the grace of Allah after serving 14 years in prison. He expressed his sympathy and gratitude to all the martyrs and those injured and disabled in the movement. He also called on the government to help their families and the injured.

He said that to make the public meeting successful, 13 sub-committees have been formed with the support of Rangpur Metropolitan Ameer Vice-Principal Maulana ATM Azam Khan. They are performing their duties relentlessly for this purpose.

Maulana Abdul Halim said that the chief guest of the public meeting will be the respected Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Central Executive Council member and former Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam, Central Nayebe Ameer former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman, Central Secretary General Professor Mia Galam Parwar, Central Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, Central Assistant Secretary General and Rangpur-Dinajpur Regional Director Maulana Abdul Halim, Dhaka Metropolitan South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul, Dhaka Metropolitan North Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin, Jamaat-e-Islami's Central Working Committee member and Rangpur- Dinajpur Region Assistant Regional Team Director Maulana Momtaz Uddin, Jamaat-e-Islami's Central Working Committee member and Rangpur- Dinajpur Region Team member Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal, Central Majlish-e-Shura member and Rangpur District Ameer Professor Muhammad Golam Rabbani will be special guests at the public meeting. The special speaker will be Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir's central president Zahidur Islam. Local leaders will also address the public meeting.

The meeting will be presided over by Jamaat-e-Islami's central Majlish-e-Shura member and Rangpur Metropolitan Branch Ameer Vice-Principal Maulana ATM Azam Khan.

 Among others, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Central Working Committee member and Rangpur- Dinajpur Region Assistant Director Maulana Momtaz Uddin, Central Working Committee member and Rangpur- Dinajpur Region Team Member Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal, Rangpur District Ameer Professor Muhammad Golam Rabbani, Metropolitan Jamaat Secretary AKM Anwarul Haque Kajal, District Secretary Maulana Enamul Haque, Rangpur Metropolitan President of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir Nurul Huda were present at the press conference.
