Final voter list to be published on 2 March next year: EC Sanaullah

Election Commissioner Brig Gen (Retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah said the commission will publish the final voter list by 2 March next year.
After publishing the list, the officials of the commission will update it by visiting homes across the country, he said while talking to reporters after emerging from the first meeting of the 14th Election Commission (EC) held at its Agargaon office in Dhaka on Monday.
Additionally, the commission will publish the draft list by 2 January and those included in the updated list will be added as new voters in 2026.
“The information of 17 lakh citizens who will be added as new voters is under our possession. These citizens will be included in the voter list on 1 January 2025, Sanaullah said.
Out of the 17 lakh citizens, the commission registered information of 13 lakh citizens in 2022.
However, according to statistics, around 45 lakh citizens are expected to be added as new voters, he said.
