The BNP has kicked off its nationwide programme of 64 districts over nine days with events in six districts on Wednesday.

Party programmes will be held in Khulna, Lalmonirhat, Sirajganj, Brahmanbaria, Sunamganj, and Patuakhali on Wednesday afternoon.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, “Our rally programme starts from today. Rallies are scheduled in six districts on the first day.”

“I have been informed from the districts that all preparations for the rallies are complete. Some of the senior leaders, including the Dhaka Standing Committee members have reached the respective districts to join the rallies while others are on their way.”

The issues on the party's agenda include affordable prices of daily necessities, improved law and order, the declaration of a clear election roadmap and resistance against various government “conspiracies”. The events will be held over nine days in 64 districts.

According to the list sent from BNP headquarters, Feb 12 will see Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy in Lalmonirhat, while Nazrul Islam Khan will be in Sirajganj. Hafiz Uddin Ahmed will address the crowd in Khulna as Vice-Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu will deliver a speech in Brahmanbaria. Party Chairperson’s Advisory Council member Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal will address supporters in Patuakhali and Ariful Haque Chowdhury will do the same in Sunamganj.

The party plans to hold a rally in Feni on Feb 16; rallies in Jashore, Tangail, Cox’s bazar, Madaripur, Thakurgaon, Chandpur, Bogura, Shariatpur, Moulvibazar, and Netrokona on Feb 17; in Manikganj, Pabna, Panchagarh, Jhenaidahl, Cumilla South, Habiganj, and Saidpur on Feb 18; in Noakhali, Rajbari, Kushtia, Kishoreganj, Pirojpur, Sylhet and Jamalpur on Feb 19; in Dhaka, Lakshmipur, Barishal South,Faridpur, Chuadanga, Kurigram, Naogaon, and Mymensingh South on Feb 20; in Jhalakathi, Chattogram South, Gopalganj, Rangpur, Mymensingh North, Joypurhat, Cumilla North, Bandarban, and Narsingdi on Feb 22; in Manikganj, Barishal North, Natore, Narail, Gaibandha, Rajshahi, Rangamati, and Magura on Feb 24; and in Narayanganj, Gazipur, Chattogram North, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Khagrachhari, Meherpur, Nilphamari, Chapainawabganj, and Dinajpur on Feb 25.
