Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Central Executive Council Member and former Acting Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam said-

“I have never been to ‘Jharuar Bil’ and I do not know it, but I was given a death sentence by falsely accusing and giving false witness. I was imprisoned in the execution cell for 8 long years. Autocracy has fled the country through the victory of the student movement in July-August. I am able to speak in front of you today because Allah has saved me from death.”

He said this as the chief guest at the workers and judges rally organized in the Jhar-ar Bill Baddhabhumi area of Ramnathpur Union of Badarganj Upazila of Rangpur on Thursday afternoon. 

Ameer Mohammad Shamsul Haque of Ramnathpur Union Jamaat-e-Islami of Badarganj Upazila presided over the rally. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Central Majlish-e-Shura member and Rangpur District Ameer Professor Muhammad Golam Rabbani was the special guest at the rally. Badarganj Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Maulana Kamruzzaman Kabir, District Jamaat Working Committee member Maulana Abdul Hannan Khan, Upazila Nayebe Ameer Shah Muhammad Rustam Ali, Secretary Muhammad Minhajul Islam, Ramnathpur Union Secretary Mohammad Joynal Abedin and others spoke at the rally.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Executive Council member, oppressed public leader ATM Azharul Islam, said that those who have fled the country due to corruption were never friends of the people of the country and will never be friends in the future. He called for voting for the patriotic party to come to power in the next election. He said, this is the Jhar-e-Aar Bill. In 1971, the Pakistani occupying forces carried out mass killings here. The Pakistani occupying forces blamed ATM Azaharul Islam for the crime and gave false testimony to witnesses who were seen from 7 kilometers away.

It is worth noting that earlier, ATM Azharul Islam visited the grave of Shaheed Rezwan of the July-August Revolution at 11 am next to Sheikh Hat Shimultali Government Primary School in Badarganj on the road from Dhaka.

ATM Azaharul Islam said, "The fascist oppressor Shahi had silenced me by ordering my execution in a false case and keeping me in jail for the past 14 years. I will devote myself to the struggle to establish the religion of Allah until the last day of my life, God willing. He said, since 2009, the fascist Awami government has killed, imprisoned and oppressed millions of leaders and activists of various political parties, including Jamaat-e-Islami. As a result of this oppression, Allah brought about their downfall in the mass uprising of the students in the 24 Revolution. The tyrant fell in exchange for the sacrifice of the life of Rangpur's glory Abu Sayeed. That day, the youth gave their hearts for the welfare of the country and the nation. The tyrants have fled the country."
