5 killed as bus rams car at Dhaka-Mawa Expressway toll plaza

Five people were killed and 10 others injured as a speedy bus rammed a private car, motorcycle and microbus waiting in queue to pay toll at the toll plaza on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway this morning.
The deceased are- Amena Akter, 45, of Nandankona village under Sirajdikhan Upazila of Munshiganj district, her daughters Israt Jahan, 26, and Ria Moni, 11, Aiyaj Hossain, 2, son of Md Sohag of Jurain in Dhaka, and Md Abdullah, 7, son of Sumon Hossain of capital's Hatirjheel area.
"The vehicles were waiting in line to pay the toll at Dhaleswari toll plaza on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway. The speedy bus of Bepari Paribahan rammed the car first, then a motorcycle and the microbus at the end at 11 am. The car became almost a pile of metal in the accident," Hasara Highway Police Station officer-in-charge Abdul Quader Jilani told BSS.
One person died on the spot, while the rest were rushed to different nearby hospitals. Later four others died of their injuries at the hospital.
