A total of 2,700 -kg of looted waste powdered yarn, which was stolen from Panchabati, Narayanganj, has been recovered in Louhajang, Munshiganj.

Three individuals involved in the looting have been arrested.

The arrested individuals are: Abdur Rahman (24), son of Anis Motaleb from Haji Abdul Majid Mallik village, Bhozira Thana, Shariatpur. Monir Gazi (23), son of the late Abdul Mannan from Golachipa village, Dashmina Thana. Akash Sheikh (21), son of Siraj Sheikh from the area adjacent to Srinagar College, Srinagar, Munshiganj.

On Wednesday night, a container carrying 2,700 kg of waste powdered yarn departed from Applian Group in Gazipur for Narayanganj. Around midnight, it arrived at the Panchabati area of Narayanganj. However, due to a labor shortage, the goods could not be unloaded, and the container was parked at Eastern’s parking lot. Shortly after, the driver went to take a shower. When he returned just 30 minutes later, the container was missing. The driver and related individuals began searching for it but could not find it anywhere.

At around 5:30 AM on Thursday, the container crashed into a banyan tree near the playground of Jagoroni Sangha in Haldia Union Bazar, Louhajang. The crash damaged an electricity meter of a local resident. Nearby people rushed to the scene and questioned the three individuals inside the container. As they failed to provide valid documents, locals contacted the transport company's phone number written on the container.

The company confirmed that the container had been hijacked from Narayanganj the previous night. Upon learning this, the locals detained the three suspects along with the container and handed them over to Louhajang police.

Louhajang Police Station OC Harun-or-Rashid stated that a looting case has been filed at Fatullah Police Station in Narayanganj. Coordination has been made with them, and once a team arrives, the suspects and goods will be handed over to Fatullah police.
