A program titled ‘July Uprising Bijoy Hall: Contribution, Remembrance’ was organized by the students of Dhaka University’s Bijoy Ekattor Hall on Saturday evening at the hall auditorium.

Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan was present as the chief guest at the program.

The program featured documentary exhibitions, graffiti exhibitions, medical service camps and distribution of medical incentives to the students of the hall injured in the uprising.

Hall Provost Prof Dr. S. M. Ali Reza presided over the program, and Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed and Managing Director of Imperial Healthcare BD Limited Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman were present as special guests. Students of the hall Abdul Kader and Jasim Uddin reminisced at the event. Mubashiruzzaman Hasan conducted the event.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said, the contribution of our students in achieving a new Bangladesh is recognized by all. We have come here today in exchange for the sacrifices of many people, including students. There is no turning back from here. We must always remember the debt of the sacrifices of students and the public. Noting that several initiatives have been taken to preserve their contributions and memorials in the university, he said that the process of establishing a museum in this regard has already started.

He expressed hope that with the voluntary work and sincerity of the students and the cooperation of everyone, it will be possible to successfully implement various initiatives taken for the overall development of the university.

Medical incentives were distributed among 58 students of the hall who were injured in the July Uprising. Before the discussion meeting, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan inspected the graffiti exhibition and medical service camp activities.
