
Freshers' reception, farewell of DU Dept of World Religions and Cultures held

The freshers' reception for the first-year undergraduate program students of the Department of World Religions and Cultures of Dhaka University and the farewell reception for the MA students were held at TSC Auditorium on Monday.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin), Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha, who is on routine duty as the Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, was present as the chief guest at the event.
The program was presided over by Departmental Chairman Prof Dr. Md. Abu Sayem and was addressed by Bangladesh University Grants Commission Member Prof Dr. Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, Founding Chairman of the Department of World Religions and Culture Prof Dr. Kazi Nurul Islam and Student Advisor Associate Prof Dr. Muha. Abdullah Al Mahmud. Assistant Prof of the Department Md. Didarul Islam conducted the program.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha said, "We are currently going through a turbulent time. In this situation, students should play a role in establishing peace and harmony in the society by showing patience, tolerance, tolerance, mutual sympathy and respect." She emphasized on improving the relationship between teachers and students. She called on the students to stand by people in any danger. She advised the students to participate in co-curricular activities along with their studies.
