Department of Labour and Employment working to ensure fair rights of workers: Labour Secretary in Faridpur

Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment A H M Shafiquzzaman said, if the workers have food in their stomachs, production in mills and factories will increase.
The present government is working so that Bangladeshi workers also get the same kind of facilities that workers in Europe and America receive. To that end, the Labour Act 2006 is being amended to formulate labour-friendly laws.
Calling on the owners to be sincere in protecting the fair rights of the workers, he said, workers must also refrain from unreasonable movements so that the production process is not disrupted.
He said while speaking as the chief guest at an exchange meeting with local administration, officers and employees of the Department of Labour, Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments, and leaders of trade unions at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Faridpur on Friday noon.
At that time, under the chairmanship of Md. Sohorah Hossain, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Faridpur, various government department officials were present.
Earlier, Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment A H M Shafiquzzaman inaugurated the expanded building of the office of the Deputy Chief Inspector of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments established in Goalachamat area of the city. He also toured the building. At that time, officials of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments were present.
