The Bangladesh Coast Guard has arrested four drug dealers with 10,000 pieces of yaba tablets and four homemade weapons in the Patenga area of Chattogram.
Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid, media officer at Coast Guard Headquarters gave this information on Friday in a press release
According to the press release, acting on a tip-off, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Base Chattogram at Charpara Ghat under Patenga Police Station around 5:00 PM on Thursday.
During the operation, the movement of four individuals raised suspicion. Upon searching a plastic sack in their possession, the Coast Guard team discovered 10,000 yaba tablets—worth approximately 50 lakh BDT—and 4 homemade weapons. The detainees confessed during preliminary interrogation that they were in the area for buying and selling yaba.
Legal procedures concerning the arrested individuals and the seized items are currently underway
