Yaba and marijuana were recovered during a raid by the Narcotics Control Department in Barishal. During the operation, law enforcement officers arrested a young man named Topu Sikder (23).
It is learnt that on Wednesday at around 4:20 pm, a raid was conducted on a rented two-room tin shed house of Topu Sikder on Sardar Road in the Passport Goli area under Kaunia police station. During the search in front of the witnesses present during the raid, 10 pieces of Yaba, weighing 1 gram, were recovered from inside a packet of Glory of Hollywood cigarettes from his lungi. Twelve pieces of ganja, wrapped in polythene, weighing 60 grams, were also recovered from under the mattress of the bed in the same room.
The arrested youth, Topu Sikder, is the son of Dulal Sikder of Sardar Goli area of Kaunia police station in Barisal. Legal action is being taken against him, said the Narcotics Control Department, District Office, Barisal.
