Victory rally by BNP, Jamaat on July Uprising Day in Naogaon

On the occasion of the anniversary of the historic July-August mass uprising, separate victory rallies and assemblies were organized by the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami in Manda upazila of Naogaon on Tuesday.

  At 11:30 AM, a protest rally started from the Koyapara Kamarkuri High School ground and paraded through the main roads of the upazila before ending at the Charmatha roundabout. A brief assembly and special prayer (doa mahfil) were held there.

The assembly was presided over by MA Matin, a member of the BNP Central Executive Committee and former convener of the DU Chhatra Dal.


He stated, “This state no longer belongs to the people—it is now under the control of looters. People's rights, votes, and livelihoods are all in question. BNP is fighting and will continue to fight for the return of democracy and people’s rights.”

The event was moderated by Shamsul Alam Badol, Organizing Secretary of Manda Upazila BNP.


Other speakers included Bayezid Hossain Palash, former District BNP Member Secretary, Mokhlesur Rahman Moke, Vice President, Upazila BNP,,A.K.M. Nazmul Haque Nazu, Dr. Ikramul Bari Tipu, BNP member, Belal Hossain Khan, Joint Convener, Abul Kalam Azad,  Shafiqul Islam Babul Chowdhury, General Secretary, Adv  Kumar Bishwajit Sarkar, Organizing Secretary, Nurul Islam, Convener, Upazila Jubo Dal, Adv  Mizanur Rahman, Emdadul Haque, Swechchhasebak Dal, Jahangir Alam Bidyut, General Secretary, Sramik Dal, Emdadul Haque Sultan, Convener, Krishak Dal and Shahiduzzaman Salek, Convener, Chhatra Dal.

Leaders and activists from every union and ward of the upazila joined in solidarity with the movement.
Speakers emphasized the need for unity to restore democracy earned through the blood of martyrs.

Meanwhile, at 5:00 PM, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Manda branch, organized a grand rally and mass gathering from their party office, demanding justice and capital punishment for the July massacre.

The assembly was presided over by Upazila Ameer Dr. Aminul Islam, with District Ameer and Jamaat-nominated MP candidate Khandaker Mohammad Abdur Rakib attending as the chief guest.

Other speakers included Prof  Abdur Rashid, former Upazila Chairman, Prof Mostafa Al Amin, Jamaat leader, Master Moyazzem Hossain, Thana Secretary, Prof  Khurshidul Alam, Abdul Malek, President, Jubo Jamaat, Super Abdur Rakib, Abdul Kaiyum and Chairman Mokhlesur Rahman.
