On the occasion of Mass Uprising Day, floral wreaths were placed in tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War in Rajapur, Jhalokathi on Tuesday morning.
UNO Rahul Chandra paid tribute at the grave of Shaheed Md. Rubel Hossain in the Hailakathi area of the upazila.
Present at the time were Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Shah Alam, OC of Rajapur Police Station Md. Ismail Hossain, officials from various departments, members of the martyr's family, and local dignitaries.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of Jhalokathi District Council Imran Shahriar paid tribute by placing a floral wreath at the grave of Shaheed Md. Monir Hossain in the Bara Koiratkathi area of the upazila.
Following the wreath-laying ceremony, a one-minute silence was observed and special prayers and munajat were offered for the forgiveness of the martyrs’ souls.
Mass Uprising Day is being observed across the upazila through various day-long programs.
