Six fined for Injecting substances into shrimps in Shyamnagar

 In Shyamnagar Upazila of Satkhira, six individuals were fined over two lakh taka by a mobile court for injecting harmful substances into Bagda shrimp. On Saturday (May 10) afternoon, based on intelligence gathered by Sergeant Al Mamun, an officer of the Directorate General of Fisheries Inspection (DGFI) in Shyamnagar, a joint team conducted a raid at the Kamarpur market in Nurnagar Union. They seized 512 kg of Bagda shrimp that had been injected, along with syringes used for injection, chemical substances, jelly, and other items. 
 
 At that time, six shrimp traders from Nurnagar market, including Jahangir, were arrested on charges of injecting substances into the shrimp. Later, a mobile court fined Jahangir Hasan 100,000 taka and the other five traders 105,000 taka collectively. The seized shrimp were publicly burned.
 
 The mobile court was presided over by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abdullah Al Rifat. Present during the operation were Lieutenant Radid Raihan, Camp Commander of Kaliganj Army Camp; Tushar Majumdar, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer of Shyamnagar; Sergeant Al Mamun of DGFI; Shyamnagar police; and others
