
National, International Youth Day to be observed Tuesday

The National and International Youth Day 2025 will be observed across the country on Tuesday with call for multilateral cooperation to build technology-driven youth power.
This year’s theme is “Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation, Through Technology and Partnerships.”
The Youth Development Department has been working to build technology-based human resources, said Youth and Sports secetary Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam at a press conference at the Secretariat on Monday.
Over the past year, 271,719 young people aged 18 to 35 have been trained in various trades and loans of Tk 47.26 crore will be provided to 4,985 young men and women.
Besides, 1,076 youths have received training in traffic management and social awareness, he said.
The main programmes of the day include a vibrant youth rally from the National Museum to Hotel Intercontinental at 7:30am, inaugural ceremony, discussion session, National Youth Award presentation, and cultural program at Hotel Intercontinental at 10am.
Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Asif Mahmud will be present as the chief guest.
The day will be marked by oath-taking ceremonies, discussion meetings, training certificate and loan distributions, cleanliness drives, blood donation programs, tree plantations, entrepreneur gatherings, and youth fairs.
Souvenirs, books featuring success stories, posters, stickers, wristbands, T-shirts, and caps will also be published and distributed.
