A mobile court sentenced content creator Md. Rubel (30) to one month’s imprisonment without labor for filming female tourists while bathing in the sea at Kuakata and for making obscene remarks.
On Wednesday afternoon, the mobile court was conducted at Zero Point area of the beach by Executive Magistrate and Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer Yasin Sadek. Members of the Tourist Police were present at the time. Rubel is a resident of Barguna Sadar upazila. Besides running a grocery shop, he also creates content.
Arif Mia, a photographer at Kuakata beach, said, “Rubel not only filmed women but also made indecent comments toward female tourists. As soon as we saw the matter, we caught him immediately.”
Another photographer, Russell, said, “When we checked his phone, we found many videos already made. So, we instantly informed the Tourist Police and handed him over to them.”
Executive Magistrate and Acting UNO of Kalapara, Yasin Sadek, said, “When Rubel was produced before the mobile court, he was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment without labor. No one will be spared for such activities.”
