
6-year-old child killed in Sandwip over family dispute

A 6-year-old child has been killed in Sandwip, Chittagong over a family dispute. The tragic incident took place at around 11 am on Wednesday in the Pelishyar Bazar area of Ward No. 5 of Magadhara Union of the upazila.
The deceased child, Ali Hossain, is a first-grade student of the local Basharul Ulum Madrasa. He is the son of Abu Taher of Magadhara Union.
According to eyewitnesses, Jahangir Alam had been in a family dispute with Jahangir for a long time. As a result, Jahangir attacked Ali Hossain on his way home from the madrasa on Wednesday. As a result, the child suffered a serious head injury and started bleeding from the mouth and ears.
When the locals rushed him to the Sandwip Medical Center in his injured condition, the doctor on duty advised him to be taken to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital for better treatment. But the child died before crossing the Sandwip channel.
After the incident, the accused Jahangir Alam was arrested with the help of locals and handed over to the police. In this regard, Sandwip Police Station OC AKM Shafiqul Alam Chowdhury said, "The accused has been arrested. An investigation is underway into the matter. Action will be taken according to the law after the investigation."
The child's untimely death has cast a shadow of grief over the area.
