3 people jailed for consuming alcohol , yaba in Boalkhali

A mobile court has jailed and fined three people for consuming yaba and drinking alcohol in Boalkhali.
On Thursday afternoon, a mobile court was conducted in the Raikhali and Shakpura areas of the upazila by Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Rahmat Ullah.
According to the mobile court sources, Shawkat Islam Jiku was sentenced to 6 months' imprisonment and a fine of 1,000 under the Narcotics Control Act for consuming and storing yaba and violating social peace and order. Jisshu Dey and Saikat Biswas were each given 7 days' imprisonment and a fine of 500 taka for drinking alcohol. After the operation, the recovered yaba and fermented liquor were destroyed in front of everyone.
A team led by AKM Azad Uddin, Deputy Inspector of the Narcotics Control Department, assisted in conducting the operation.
UNO and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Rahmat Ullah said, "Everyone has been sentenced to imprisonment and fined under the Narcotics Control Act. Drug dealers and users are enemies of the country and the nation. Such operations of the upazila administration against drugs will continue.
