Zamzam Nursing College has formally bid farewell to the first batch of its graduate students. The college organized a vibrant event to honour the successful completion of the four-year BSc in Nursing course by its inaugural batch on Friday.
The day-long program included a discussion session, the presentation of mementos to mark course completion, awards for meritorious students, cultural performances, and a ‘Rag Day’ or farewell festival.
At the start of the event, the college’s Chairman of the Governing Body, S.M. Sajjadul Haque, presented graduation crests to the outgoing students. He said, “This moment is deeply emotional and joyous for us. Our first batch of students has successfully completed their academic journey, and now they will play a significant role in the country’s healthcare system—this is our pride.”
Established in 2012, Zamzam Nursing College emerged as Barisal city’s first private medical education institution. The college offers diploma and BSc degree programs in nursing and other medical-related fields. In 2020, it introduced the BSc in Nursing course under the affiliation and supervision of Dhaka University. Five years later, the first batch of this course earned their graduate degrees, and the farewell ceremony was held to celebrate this milestone.
The event was graced by distinguished education enthusiast and social organizer Mizanur Rahman Taslim as the chief guest. The special guest was Md. Saifullah Sahed, Barisal Divisional Head of Abul Khair Group. The college’s Chairman, S.M. Sajjadul Haque, along with the newly appointed young acting principal, Md. Jalis Mahmud, and other faculty members and administrative officials, were also present at the event.
