Youth shot to death younger brother in Patuakhali

A youth reportedly shot his younger to death at Bauphal upazila in Patuakhali district on Sunday morning.
Police have arrested the elder brother Md Sajib Hossain, 21, on Monday afternoon.The incident took place around 11am in Surjamoni village under the upazila.
Deceased Sabbir Hossain, 16, was physically challenged and the youngest son of Babul Sardar of the same village. He was also fifth grader of a local institute.
According to locals, Sajib accidentally pressed the trigger of an abandoned revolver while he was playing with it. The bullet hit his younger brother Sabbir on the left side of the forehead above his eye.
The relatives rushed him to Bauphal Upazila Health Complex where the physicians referred him to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital. He then, shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where Sabbir succumbed to his injuries early Monday.
Bauphal Police Station inspector Atiqul Islam said the incident is being investigated and they have detained Sajib for questioning.
The body has been kept at Patuakhali Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy and legal actions would be taken upon investigation, added the police official.
