Youth Majlis in Gazipur demand ustice for Shapla-July massacres, ban on AL

Bangladesh Khelafat Youth Majlis, Gazipur District Branch, organized a protest rally and demonstration demanding justice for the Shapla and July massacres and a ban on the ruling Awami League. The protest rally took place on Monday after Asr prayers on the Dhaka–Mymensingh highway at the Maona Chourasta area of Sreepur upazila, followed by a roadside assembly under the Maona flyover.
During the pre-rally gathering, speakers said, “A commission must be formed immediately to ensure justice for the massacre at Shapla Chattar. If the perpetrators are not brought to justice, we are prepared to take any necessary action.” They further stated that by committing three mass killings, the Awami League has lost the moral right to participate in the country’s politics. “The party must be banned through a judicial process as a terrorist organization,” they demanded.A special prayer was offered for the martyrs and victims of the Shapla and July incidents.The program was presided over by Gazipur District President Maulana Fayzullah Faridi and conducted by District Organizing Secretary Hafiz Anwarul Islam Apel and Sreepur Upazila President Maulana Hadiuzzaman.Among the speakers were Maulana Abdul Malek Azad, Organizing Secretary of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Gazipur District Branch; Maulana Ahmadullah Sakib, Assistant Organizing Secretary; Maulana Kamruzzaman, District Baitul Mal Secretary; Maulana Shafiqul Islam Rahmani, General Secretary of Sreepur Upazila Branch; Maulana Ubaydullah, a prominent district member; Maulana Yusuf Ahmad, Youth Majlis Sreepur Upazila Organizing Secretary; and Maulana Omar Faruq, Upazila Baitul Mal Secretary.Leaders from fraternal organizations also joined the event, including Maulana Shakil Ahmad Morol, Joint General Secretary of Jubo Jamiat Gazipur District Branch, and Maulana Dr. Imdadul Haque Mahdi, an official of Sreepur Municipality.
