Youth dies in fall shortly after committing theft at Kuliarchar Model Mosque

A youth named Akash, 24, died after falling from the fifth floor of a multi-storied commercial-cum-residential building named S. Zaman Tower in Kuliarchar upazila of Kishoreganj.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night at approximately 9:30 PM, just about half an hour after the youth had allegedly stolen electrical wiring and other materials from the Kuliarchar Model Mosque.
The deceased, Akash, was the son of Jewel Miah, a resident of the Chararbon neighborhood within the municipality area.
According to eyewitnesses, Akash was spotted by a female resident while he was attempting to break into a flat on the fifth floor of S. Zaman Tower. When the woman raised an alarm and started screaming, other residents of the building and people in the surrounding area quickly became alert to the intrusion. Sensing the imminent danger of being caught red-handed, Akash made a desperate attempt to flee the scene. In the process of escaping, he lost his footing and plunged directly from the fifth floor of the building. He crashed heavily onto a three-wheeler autorickshaw parked below, sustaining critical injuries.
Local residents rushed to the spot, rescued the severely injured youth, and transported him to the Kuliarchar Upazila Health Complex. The attending physician at the hospital stated that Akash succumbed to his injuries a short while later while undergoing emergency treatment. Investigation subsequently revealed that roughly thirty minutes prior to this fatal fall, Akash had infiltrated the Kuliarchar Model Mosque and committed a theft, stealing copper electrical wires and various other fixtures.
Kuliarchar Police Station OC Kazi Arif Uddin confirmed the development, stating that an unnatural death case has been registered with the local police station regarding the incident.
The body of the deceased has been dispatched to the hospital morgue for a detailed post-mortem examination. The police chief added that all necessary legal proceedings concerning the matter are currently underway.
