Youth arrested for raping girl in Narail

Lohagara police arrested Nur Nabi Sheikh (22) on Sunday night for allegedly raping a 14-year-old seventh-grade schoolgirl. The arrest was made in Lahuria Rajapur village, where Nur Nabi, son of Nur Mia Sheikh, resides. Lohagara Police Station OC Ashiqur Rahman confirmed the arrest on Monday.
According to police and family sources, the victim was abducted by Nur Nabi near her school gate on Sunday morning while heading to class. He took her to a house in Lohagara municipality, where he raped her before returning her to the school. The girl reported the incident to the headteacher, and her father subsequently filed a rape case at Lohagara Police Station. Police arrested Nur Nabi later that night and sent him to court on Monday.
OC Ashiqur Rahman said, “We acted swiftly and arrested the accused on the night of the incident. He has been presented before the court.”
